Armstrong World Industries, Inc. (AWI) has a job opportunity for Marketing and Communications Specialist to be located in Lancaster, PA. The Assistant Marcom Specialist is responsible for responsible for developing and executing marketing strategies and objectives through the use of effective marketing communications tactics. Additionally, the Assistant Marcom Specialist will be responsible for delivering yearly communications plans, from ideas through copy and graphics, for a broad range of print and web/e-tactics including literature, sampling, merchandising, promotion, newsletters, publicity, case studies, emails, social media, and other communications vehicles, integrating messaging across all approaches:


Key Responsibilities of the Marketing and Communications Specialist:

  • Creating new product and program concepts overseeing creative and commercialization tactics through implementation
  • Creating, monitoring and tracking budgets and report spend on quarterly basis
  • Integrating with advertising resources to support placement and integrate other marketing communications tactics, including publicity, email, web, social media, print literature, video and other communications tactics
  • Developing communications across electronic platforms (web, mobile, social, video, tablets, etc.)
  • Assisting with newsletter, direct mail, advertising, and catalog and data page creation/editing, data checking and proofreading
  • Implementing public relations programs, press releases, online events, and social media tactics, coordinating with team members and PR agency
  • Planning and execute trade show support, including preparation of materials for rep use on a local basis.  Assist with National/Virtual Trade Shows as requested
  • Participating in market research and design of new specification and selection tools
  • Coordinating various marketing fulfillment duties including fulfillment for advertising, back of book inquiries, online presence, and other sales literature
  • Actively using process improvement tools to achieve result simpler, faster & better without negative impact on our customers or team


Required Qualifications for the Marketing and Communications Specialist:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Advertising, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in communications
  • 2+ years of experience in marketing
  • Proven ability to develop ideas, oversee graphic design and implement to support promotion/program or launch initiative in both print and web environments
  • Strong written, verbal, interpersonal communication and organizational skills
  • Experience in project management
  • Ability to understand CAD files, Revit and web standard files used by our customers
  • Fluent in MS Word, MS PPT, MS Internet Explorer, MS Excel, MS Outlook, Adobe Acrobat


Desired Qualifications for the Marketing and Communications Specialist:

  • Prior Ceilings, Suspension Systems or Commercial Building Industry knowledge
  • Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Acrobat, Rhythmix/Omniture training
  • Experience with content and data management systems (Rhythmyx and eprod)
