Job Description :

Armstrong World Industries, Inc. has a job opportunity for a Customer Service Representative to be located in Lancaster, PA.  The Customer Service Representative will be responsible for managing orders and respond to inquiries from an incoming 800 number for Armstrong Retail Customers.

Key Responsibilities of the Customer Service Representative:

  • Handling calls regarding everything from order placement and order confirmation to material availability, product information and requests to rush orders
  • Communicating with various individuals including those from retailers, consumers, distributors and freight carriers as well as internal contacts such as sales, marketing, production planning, plants, finance and transportation to service customer orders and inquiries


Required Qualifications for the Customer Service Representative:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 1+ years experience in a customer service evironment
  • Superior verbal and written communication/customer service skills
  • A commitment to consistently exceed the customer's expectations
  • Excellent listening skills and problem-solving skills relative to customer inquiries
  • The ability to prioritize your workload and perform multiple tasks at once is key
  • The ability to maintain a positive attitude and work effectively within a team environment
  • The ability to be proactive, take initiative, be accountable and possess a strong propensity towards change and process improvement                      
  • Proficiency in operating a PC with basic knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word


Desired Qualifications for the Customer Service Representative:

  • Previous call center experience
  • Experience with SAP and AS400 systems
