Armstrong World Industries (AWI) has a job opportunity for a Senior Human Resources Manager to be located in Lancaster, PA.  The Senior Human Resources Manager will be responsible for providing strategic human resources (HR) leadership to manufacturing facilities and generalist support to key client groups within AWI. Additionally, the Senior Human Resources Manager will be expected to direct and lead plant HR Managers at 7 manufacturing facilities ensuring alignment between manufacturing leadership and plant managers and HR. This position will also serve as the human resource business partner to the VP, Operations as well as the Ops Excellence, Procurement and Logistics organizations.


Key Responsibilities of the Senior Human Resources Manager:

  • Leading and directing plant HR Managers to support the achievement of plant performance metrics in the areas of Safety, Cost, Quality, Schedule Adherence and Productivity
  • Ensuring the execution of key plant HR initiatives and processes to drive continuous improvement in the areas of organization effectiveness, staffing, labor and employee relations, performance management, training and development, benefits, employment practices and compliance
  • Managing strategy for Labor and Employee Relations, including Union Negotiations
  • Mentoring and developing plant HR Managers ensuring their ongoing development and functional excellence
  • Identifying and leading process improvements within the HR function in AWI


Required Qualifications for the Senior Human Resources Manager:

  • Bachelor's degree or commensurate experience
  • 7+ years of progressive HR leadership experience in manufacturing organizations
  • Expertise in core HR disciplinary functions
  • Ability to communicate effectively and influence at this level
  • Ability to travel to plant locations is expected and is at the minimum of 25%


Desired Qualifications for the Senior Human Resources Manager:

  • Master's in Human Resources, Labor Relations or MBA degree
  • PHR/SPHR certification
