Armstrong World Industries, Inc. has a job opportunity for a Maintenance Stores Specialist to be located in Macon, GA.  The Maintenance Stores Specialist will be responsible for managing the plant storeroom system and the administration of maintenance processes to support the manufacturing process on a daily basis

Key Responsibilities of the Maintenance Stores Specialist:

·         Owning a core maintenance system (Storeroom) that provides materials for the entire plant

·         Developing & implementing processes for continued improvement of stores operations and management of inventory

·         Managing the administration of maintenance effectiveness measures including PR IAP 5.0 & 6.0 related reports and charts. 

·         Supporting maintenance systems improvements and drive those improvements within the plant

·         Partnering with Corp & Plant Purchasing and/or Maintenance on the selection and rating of suppliers using principles of Supplier Quality

·         Acting as key user of SAP PM to report costs and ensure the accuracy of maintenance work as related to Maintenance Stores

·         Providing training of SAP and other maintenance information systems

·         Employing interaction management skills to create and maintain good working relationships with all plant employees, external suppliers and contacts

·         Directing yearly physical inventory and performs monthly cycle counts to assure inventory accuracy  

·         Leading group of 8-10 technicians each year to perform the physical inventory of plant stores

·         Monitoring incoming materials for compliance with the plant's environmental standards

·         Managing the security of the plant’s stores inventory and recommends improvements for securing the company’s assets

·         Maintaining and improving the safety of the stores environment with emphasis on ergonomic and safe lifting practices and procedures for all personnel who access Stores

Required Qualifications for the Maintenance Stores Specialist:

·         5+ years of experience

·         Bachelors degree or equivalent experience

Desired Qualifications for the Maintenance Stores Specialist:

Experience working in a manufacturing environm

Our Macon Plant, one of six Armstrong ceiling plants, employs approximately 435 people working on rotating shifts, 24/7, in the manufacture and shipment of acoustical ceiling tile to Armstrong's customers.  Located approximately 85 miles south of Atlanta, the Macon facility has 33 acres under one roof, or 1.5 million square feet of floor space.  It is the largest ceiling tile factory in the world.  The operations are complex, automated, use the latest modern management technology, and manufacture a wide range of commercial and residential ceiling products.
