Armstrong World Industries (AWI) has a job opportunity for a Technical Representative  in Lancaster, PA. Under the direction of the Manager of Customer and Sales Operations, the Technical Representative will be responsible for providing effective and timely sales support and technical customer service as a part of AWI’s Techline technical assistance team. The Technical Representative will provide technical advice and solutions to issues encountered during the design, specification, bidding and construction process related to AWI ceiling, wall and suspension systems.


Key Responsibilities of the Technical Representative:

  • Providing technical expertise to customers
  • Handling technical customer inquiries by phone, email and Live Chats
  • Handling technical field sales inquiries
  • Capturing details of technical inquires within Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software
  • Responding to inquiries on the use and navigation of the AWI website, including the operation of online technical services
  • Reviewing customer blueprints and responding to requests for products drawings
  • Participating in customer training as a technical subject matter expert
  • Participating in Kaizen events as a technical subject matter expert


Required Qualifications for the Technical Representative:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 2+ years of previous customer service experience
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a wide range of customers and teammates
  • Strong analytical skills with proven technical or product knowledge
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven Computer skills, proficient with Microsoft Office


Desired Qualifications for the Technical Representative:

  • Associates Degree
  • Previous work experience in the building materials industry
  • Knowledge of construction processes and practices
  • Previous experience with SAP and/or Salesforce
