Armstrong World Industries, Inc. (AWI) has a job opportunity for an Sales Support Field Representative to be located in Chicago, IL.  The Sales Support Field Representative will be responsible for driving sales to exceed annual budgets for all commercial suspension, wall and ceilings products by developing strong consultative selling relationships with existing National Accounts throughout the Americas.

 

Key Responsibilities of the Sales Support Field Representative:

  • Managing all existing renovation opportunities with Grainger, GPOs and CBRE, including obtaining appointments with facility managers to perform facility audit and develop target account list and prepare closure strategy
  • Developing audit findings report for each audited facility
  • Developing and implementing follow-up strategy to close work on recommend upgrades and competitive cross-overs
  • Influencing all specifications from accounts to include proprietary Armstrong specifications
  • Managing relationships with targeted owners and “agents” to help hold specifications through the construction cycle.  Includes but not limited to: property management firms, construction managers, GPO’s and others
  • Meeting reporting requirements for Accelerated Renovation
  • Interfacing with the regional Armstrong representatives and distributor representatives to solicit support for accounts
  • Supporting Director, Customer and Sales Operations with negotiating and implement contracts with new and existing accounts
  • Utilizing Salesforce.com for maintaining all account contact, notes and project management history

 

Required Qualifications for the Sales Support Field Representative:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Sales, Business, Engineering, Project Management or related field
  • Advanced presentation skills
  • Negotiation skills
  • Computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. 

 

Desired Qualifications for the Sales Support Field Representative:

  • Knowledge of the construction industry
  • 2+ years of sales experience
