Armstrong World Industries, Inc. (AWI) has a job opportunity for a Backup & Storage Infrastructure Analyst/Architect to be located in Lancaster, PA. The Backup & Storage Infrastructure Analyst/Architect will be responsible for administering backup and storage in a global environment. Additionally, they will be responsible for the direct implementation, troubleshooting and management of a global infrastructure.

 

Key Responsibilities of the Backup & Storage Infrastructure Analyst/Architect:

  • Providing comprehensive designs to address and compliment the company’s strategic Enterprise Backup and Storage direction
  • Implementing and managing architectures based on best practices and in compliance with security and corporate guidelines
  • Utilizing management tools to monitor, evaluate, and report health statistics of the Backup and Storage environments
  • Collaborating with Facilities Management for Data Center security, resiliency, and uptime
  • Performing capacity planning and performance analysis
  • Developing and planning time/resource estimates and cost benefit analyses for projected activities
  • Responding to issue escalation and service interruption as a confident technical leader (i.e. assumes technical leadership role in problem resolution and performs root cause analysis)
  • Preparing technical subject matter presentations for business leaders and peers
  • Maintaining effective relationships with off-shore staff, vendors, consultants, service providers and leverages these relationships to ensure best-fit solutions and execution of those solutions
  • Evaluating emerging technologies
  • Seeking continuous improvement opportunities for productivity improvement and cost control

 

Required Qualifications for the Backup & Storage Infrastructure Analyst/Architect:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related discipline with a minimum of 8 years of related infrastructure architecture experience, or an Associate’s degree in computer science or a related discipline with a minimum of 12 years of related infrastructure architecture experience. An advanced degree is preferred
  • 5+ years’ experience in Commvault backup solutions software
  • 5+ years’ experience in backup solutions for VMware virtual infrastructure environment
  • 5+ years’ experience in Oracle and SQL server database backup and recovery
  • 3+ years’ experience with VMware vSphere virtual server infrastructure
  • 3+ years’ experience with cloud backup and storage technology
  • Experience administering enterprise & mid-tier storage subsystems and understanding of concepts such as Raid Groups and Storage Pools, Virtualization and remote storage replication.
  • Experience with Brocade SAN fabric technologies
  • Understanding of storage networking fundamentals, concepts, and components, including storage subsystems, SCSI, NFS, Fiber Channel, switches, iSCSI, HBAs, virtualization, zoning, LUN masking, LVM, etc.
  • Experience with performance engineering and tuning of large scale data backups
  • Experience with advanced backup configurations, such as de-duplication, encryption, snapshot, image level backup, etc.
  • Experience with SAN and NAS storage administration, particularly on HP and Dell platforms
  • Experience with Windows 2008, 2012, 2016 and RedHat Enterprise LINUX (RHEL) 5.x, 6.x., 7.x

 

Desired Qualifications for the Backup & Storage Infrastructure Analyst/Architect:

  • Competency in the following areas; HPE 3PAR as well as Dell Compellent.
  • Strong scripting abilities.
  • Strong Communication skills
  • Experience with different tape library technologies
  • Have a working knowledge of hyperconverged solutions
