Armstrong Industries mondiales, inc. recherche un concepteur CAO pour son établissement de Montréal. Le concepteur CAO sera responsable de la conception et de la production des dessins des produits selon les exigences de projets sur mesure et les capacités de production.

 

Responsabilités principales du concepteur CAO :

  • Créer des dessins de production selon les normes exigées à l’aide des logiciels 2D et 3D SolidWorks et AutoCAD
  • Créer des dessins de production techniques clairs et exacts
  • Conceptualiser de nouveaux produits pour plafonds selon les besoins des projets sur mesure
  • Offrir des recommandations conceptuelles pour respecter les demandes du client en gardant en tête la capacité opérationnelle de l’usine
  • Devenir un agent de soutien technique en matière de besoins en outillage et en équipement pour l’intégration du concept de produit
  • Participer activement à la conception des perforations et des matrices pour l’intégration du produit
  • Produire les documents requis tels que les dessins d’assemblage à la fabrication, les listes détaillées de fabrication et les lots de travaux pour la production
  • Travailler avec le personnel de production afin de résoudre les problèmes et, au besoin, aider à la production pour veiller à l’amélioration et à l’optimisation du produit
  • Effectuer d’autres tâches compatibles avec les fonctions du poste, par exemple l’optimisation de l’utilisation de SolidWorks et d’AutoCAD

 

Qualifications requises pour le concepteur CAO :

  • Diplôme collégial (CÉGEP) en conception architecturale ou en dessin industriel
  • Au moins cinq ans d’expérience dans l’industrie du formage des métaux et de l’outillage en tant que concepteur/dessinateur
  • Expérience dans l’industrie du formage de la tôle et bonne connaissance de la conception d’outillage pour la conception de produits en métal; bonnes aptitudes à apprendre les propriétés mécaniques des métaux
  • Expérience en conception ou en dessins de conception ou de fabrication dans l’industrie du formage de la tôle mince
  • Bilingue (anglais et français)
  • Bonnes connaissances du travail de la tôle dans SolidWorks et AutoCAD 2D; la personne à ce poste devra réaliser des dessins et parfois de la conception et de l’analyse de projet dans AutoCAD et SolidWorks et doit donc posséder une connaissance approfondie de ces logiciels.
  • Connaissance de MS Office
  • Pensée novatrice et exacte pour les tâches de conception et de dessin
  • Bonnes capacités de communication orale et écrite et de présentation en français et en anglais
  • Capacité à bien communiquer avec différents paliers de l’organisation

Armstrong World Industries, Inc. has a job opportunity for a CAD Designer to be located in Montreal. The CAD Designer will be responsible for the design and manufacturing drawings of the products related to the custom project requirements and according to the production capability.

 

Key Responsibilities of the CAD Designer:

  • Performing manufacturing drawings to the required standards using 2D and 3D design software SolidWorks and AutoCAD
  • Creating accurate and clear manufacturing technical drawings
  • Conceptualizing new ceiling products as per custom projects requirements
  • Providing design recommendations to meet customer’s inquiries in respect to the plant operational capabilities
  • Becoming a technical support in tooling requirements and equipment capability for product design integration
  • Actively participating in dies and punches design for product integration
  • Producing required documents such as fabrication assembly drawings, detailed manufacturing listings and production work packages
  • Working with production personnel to resolve issues and as needed assist production for product improvement and optimization
  • Performing other tasks compatible with your duties such as optimization of Solidworks and AutoCAD usage

 

Required Qualifications for the CAD Designer:

  • College Degree (CEGEP) in architectural design and /or industrial drawings.
  • 5+ years’ experience in the metal forming & tooling industry as a product designer/drafter
  • Experience in the sheet metal industry and good knowledge of tooling design for metal product design; Have good learning skills towards material mechanical properties
  • Experience in design and / or manufacturing drawings in the metal forming thin sheets industries
  • Bilingual in French & English
  • Strong knowledge in Solidworks sheet metal as well as 2D AutoCAD; position is required to do AutoCAD & Solidworks drawings and sometimes design / project analysis therefore a thorough knowledge of AutoCAD and Solidworks is essential.
  • Knowledgeable of MS Office software
  • Innovative and accurate thinking for design and drawing tasks
  • Effective verbal and written communication and presentation skills in French and English
  • Ability to communicate well at different levels of the organization

Our Montreal Plant, one of six Armstrong ceiling plants, employs 36 people designing, developing and manufacturing specialty metal ceiling and wall systems for a wide range of market segments and applications.
