Armstrong World Industries, Inc. (AWI) has a job opportunity for a Field Account Representative supporting the Southern CA, Arizona, and Nevada regions.  The Field Account Representative will be responsible for driving ceiling product sales with specific accounts by developing strong consultative selling relationships. The Field Account Representative will be provided a company car and sales materials to visit client sites on a daily basis.  He or she will be responsible for becoming a subject matter expert in our ceilings products in order to train and educate Account Managers who work for our partner companies and call on facilities teams. 


Key Responsibilities of the Field Account Representative:

  • Developing local relationships with Account Managers who work for MRO Companies (Maintenance Repair and Operating Supplies), and GPO Companies (Group Purchasing Organizations)
  • Training and supporting account managers as they sell Armstrong ceilings to facilities to meet their replacement needs
  • Developing a pull-through strategy with Account Managers for specific facilities to increase their replacement rate of damaged or under-performing ceilings
  • Using facility audits to uncover replacement needs and developing audit findings report for every audited facility
  • Ability to uncover latent needs by gaining a deep understanding of customers’ business
  • Developing and implementing follow-up strategy to close work on recommend upgrades
  • Utilizing Salesforce.com for maintaining all account contact, notes and project management history


Required Qualifications for the Field Account Representative:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Sales, Business, Engineering, Project Management or related field
  • Ability to work autonomously without local, direct supervision
  • Advanced presentation skills
  • Negotiation skills
  • Computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
