Armstrong World Industries is currently seeking a Pricing Manager to join our Marketing & Analytical Services team at our headquarters in Lancaster, PA. The Pricing Manager will mainly be responsible for managing the pricing team in the implementation of price increase and changes for all product categories. The Pricing Manager will also be tasked with ensuring price quotes comply with policy and for maintaining the needed reporting infrastructure to facilitate evaluation of pricing strategy at the customer and local market level.                          


Responsibilities of the Pricing Manager (80% of time):

  • Develop complex pricing models based on item identification, pricing, and profitability analysis
  • Lead flawless execution of all pricing strategies; from financial and sub-growth rationalization of price points, to implementation timing, positioning, channel participation, and sunset strategies
  • Manage day-to-day quoting activity; provide reporting and analysis against performance targets
  • Create pricing initiatives to stimulate demand while maximizing profitability
  • Collaborate with Sales and Product Management to influence pricing and business strategies
  • Set pricing structures for key strategic opportunities and prepare financial analysis
  • Manage a pricing roadmap that captures a cohesive growth strategy and comprehensive picture of all price changes; assist with transacting pricing approval and strategy requests
  • Maintain price matrices and ensure accuracy and consistency in system pricing levels
  • Analyze profitability by vendor and work with leadership on pricing strategies
  • Partner with sales to analyze strategic customer pricing levels and assist in developing actions to improve profitability and grow sales
  • Analyze and track manual pricing overrides; review results with sales team and identify opportunities to reduce manual adjustments
  • Prepare pricing and profitability analysis by customer and vendor and develop reports, charts, and graphs of findings to present to sales and leadership
  • Perform advanced financial modeling and analysis of current accounts, potential accounts, and company pricing


Responsibilities of the Pricing Manager (20% of time):  

  • Collaborate with IT to maintain and implement adjustments to pricing systems
  • Work closely with analytics team to drive identify price and volume opportunities


Required Qualifications and Education of the Pricing Manager:

  • Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university and 3+ years of professional experience or equivalent experience in Business-to-Business price management
  • 3+ years of pricing management experience
  • Prior experience managing a team and with project quoting
  • Pricing management experience with high-level of technological proficiency
  • Must be comfortable with spreadsheets, dashboards, and the use of analysis in setting priorities


Preferred Qualifications and Education of the Pricing Manager:

  • Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Finance, Accounting or Statistics
